Mangesh Joshi started his career by making documentary films and short films.

His first feature-length screenplay ‘CYCLE’ was selected for the NFDC Writers’ Lab section in the

year 2007 and was mentored by Oscar winner, Danis Tanovic and BAFTA nominees, Olivia

Hetreed and Bernd Lichtenberg, Mani Ratnam.

His feature-length film ‘Lathe Joshi’ was his second feature film as a writer-director-producer. The

film screened at over 25 international film festivals across the globe and won 18 awards.

‘Karkhanisanchi Waari’(Ashes on A Road Trip) is his third feature film. It had its World premiere

at the 33rd

Tokyo International Film Festival and was also screened at festivals in IFFI, Chennai,

Shanghai, London, and Melbourne. The film has won 3 international awards at Zaibaikalsky

International Film Festival, Russia including best film and best director. He was selected as one of

the 18 candidates out of 20 countries for a Global Media Maker program organised by Film

Independent in Los Angeles in 2022.
