Hello!
I’m Nayana, a screenwriter based in Kolkata, often working between here and Mumbai. Although I’ve been a writer for as long as I can remember, I’ve been working full-time as a screenwriter since 2022.
Current whereabouts:
I’m currently working as an assistant writer for a feature film, remotely/Mumbai.
My debut screenplay Mirror Mirror (2024), co-written with director Loveena Bagga, advanced to Stage 1 of the SWA Script Lab 2024, placing among the top 5% of entries.
Genres I’m drawn to:
Off-beat stories, highly localised worlds, the eerie, the absurd, and corporate horror.

I have a background in design, with a Bachelor’s in Design from NIFT (Gandhinagar) and a Postgraduate degree in Visual Communication from Srishti School of Art, Design & Technology (Bangalore). Before moving into film, I worked for nearly a decade across corporates and startups, leading teams and working across marketing, UI/UX, and R&D functions. In the film industry, I’ve worked as an Art Director for advertisements, an Assistant Director, and in post-production for both ads and features. I’ve basically been the go-to get-shit-done person on and off set. I’m associated as a writer with Adhyah Moving Pictures (Ludhiana) and have previously interned with Little Lambs Films Pvt. Ltd. (Mumbai).
